FAQ
Every question we’ve seen from farmers, growers, contractors and plant managers, with answers drawn from STAG’s published materials.
What is the STAG Beetle 100?
The Beetle 100 is an all-electric mini compact track loader made by STAG Inc. and built in Indiana. You can drive it standing on its fold-down rear platform or run it by remote control. It has a 24 kWh battery, a standard CII attachment plate and a 35.6 in. width on narrow tracks.
Is the Beetle 100 good for farm work?
It fits work inside barns, greenhouses and other enclosed or tight spaces, where a diesel machine adds exhaust and noise. It carries the same mini skid steer attachments farms already use. Jobs heavier than about 1,090 lb per load call for a larger machine.
How much does the Beetle 100 cost?
STAG’s homepage listed a $56,900 MSRP on October 1, 2026. Earlier STAG materials listed $54,900. The machine is sold only through authorized STAG dealers.
How long does the battery last on a charge?
STAG rates it for about an 8-hour workday. An electric machine uses no energy while it sits idle. A standard 110V/15A outlet recharges it overnight in about 8 hours, and the optional 6.6 kW charger does it in about 3 to 4 hours.
Who makes the Beetle 100?
STAG Inc. Co-founders Patrik Psenak (CEO) and Adam Zajac (CBDO) previously worked on electric construction equipment for a European manufacturer. STAG builds the Beetle 100 in Indiana and stocks parts in Indiana warehouses.
Can I buy a Beetle 100 directly from STAG?
No. STAG sells only through authorized dealers, and leads from STAG’s website go to those dealers.
What is the warranty?
2 years or 2,000 hours on the machine and 3 years or 3,000 hours on the battery system, whichever comes first.
How long will the battery pack last?
STAG rates it at 80% of its capacity after 3,000 full charge cycles, which it estimates at about 24,000 operating hours. That is longer than the expected life of the machine.
Can I use my existing attachments?
Yes, if they use the standard CII mini skid steer plate. Auxiliary hydraulics deliver 8 gpm at 2,700 psi.
Is it powerful enough to replace a diesel mini loader?
STAG lists an 18 kW traction drive with 6,200 N·m of instant torque and a 50:11 planetary gearbox for grades. Its rated capacity of about 1,090 lb is at the top of the mini loader class.
Can it load a dump truck?
Hinge pin height is 86 in. with a 37° dump angle. Check the side height of your truck or spreader.
Can it work in rain, mud and dust?
Yes. The chassis is hermetically sealed and electrical components are IP67 rated. IP67 is not a high-pressure washdown rating.
Why is it remote controlled?
Remote operation keeps the operator clear of the work and gives a full view around the machine. STAG’s founders also point out that it lets people who can’t stand on a platform, including wheelchair users, operate the machine.
What does the telematics system track?
Location, battery health, usage hours and diagnostic codes over 4G/satellite. Inclinometers record tip events.
Is the STAG Beetle 100 the same as a STAG Equipment TL450?
No. STAG Equipment’s TL425 and TL450 are diesel mini skid steers from an unrelated brand. The Beetle 100 is made by STAG Inc.
Does the Section 179 deduction apply?
Qualifying business equipment can often be expensed under Section 179, which U.S. Bank reports at $2,560,000 for 2026, or through 100% bonus depreciation. Ask your tax advisor.
Can I run the Beetle 100 inside a barn with animals in it?
Yes. With no engine it adds no carbon monoxide or diesel exhaust to barn air. STAG lists noise under 70 to 75 dBA. Use the same care around stock that you would with any machine.
Can I charge it in the barn?
It charges from a standard 110V/15A outlet in about 8 hours. Barns are wet and dusty, so use a properly rated GFCI circuit and have an electrician check the outlet you plan to use for overnight charging.
Will it lift a round bale?
Only a light one. Round bales often weigh 800 to 1,500 lb or more, and the Beetle 100’s rated operating capacity is about 1,090 lb. It handles small squares, bagged feed and bedding well. Weigh your bales before you use a spear.
Does it work in winter?
STAG has not published cold-weather ratings. Lithium iron phosphate batteries generally should not be charged below freezing unless the pack is heated. Ask your dealer about cold-weather operation and plan to charge in a heated space.
