Compare the yearly running cost of a diesel mini loader with the Beetle 100 using your own hours, fuel price and power rate.
Short answer
At 500 hours a year and STAG’s default prices, a comparable diesel mini track loader costs about $4,335 a year to run and the Beetle 100 about $685. That is roughly $3,650 a year saved, or $7.30 an hour. Your figures depend on your hours, off-road diesel price and electric rate.

Method follows STAG’s published calculator. Both sides exclude track wear, greasing, pins and bushings. Battery replacement is excluded because STAG rates the pack at 80% after 3,000 cycles. CO2 uses EPA’s 10,180 g per gallon of diesel and EIA’s US grid average of 0.81 lb per kWh, in US tons.
Taxes can matter more than fuel
After the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, U.S. Bank reports a 2026 Section 179 expensing limit of $2,560,000, with phase-out starting at $4,090,000 of equipment purchases, and 100% bonus depreciation restored for 2025 and later. For many farms that means the full cost of a qualifying machine can be deducted in the year it goes into service. Ask your tax advisor how this applies to you.
