The National Farm Machinery Show 2022 requires some basic preparation to have a great time. Given the impending nature of the event, it might be easy to forget some of those things. Especially if this is your first time going or you have questions about this modern outing.

How do I get to the National Farm Machinery Show?

The National Farm Machinery Show takes place in Louisville, KY on February 16th – 19th, 2022. The event will take place from 9 am – 5 pm EST every day between the 16th and the 19th.

What can I expect at the National Farm Machinery Show?

The National Farm Machinery Show is full of incredible events, the latest farming products and a wild variety of vendors and exhibitors.

But, everybody loves the tractor pull. The video above is a highlight reel of the best of the 2020 Tractor Pull. If you have never been, Freedom Hall is right next door to the South Wing. You can easily make your way over to the Tractor Pull as soon as the main show finishes.

While preparing for National Farm Machinery Show 2022, I forgot to check out my food options.

Your days spent at National Farm Machinery Show 2022 will be long but fun. Of course, we would expect you to have questions about what you can eat.

While there is typically food vendors on-site, there are a multitude of local Louisville eateries to check out for dinner later in the night.

So, visit the South Wing Mezzanine and pick up some Mr. G’s Kettle Corn and then stop by New Wave Burritos for dinner. You have multiple restaurants nearby and chains such as Cracker Barrel within a few blocks of the show.

Can I climb inside vehicles at the National Farm Machinery Show?

Due to safety and the desire to respect the equipment brought to the Show, it’s best to not climb inside vehicles without stated permission.

However, if any individual exhibitor lets you hop into a cool new piece of equipment, have fun!

Which of my favorite manufacturers, brands, dealers, etc. will be there?

I have a difficult time walking around a large facility. Is there something available to help me?

For Farm Show visitors that might not feel prepared for a full day of walking the show, there are available options to assist you.

If you are attending the Show on Friday and Saturday, there will be a shuttle service provided. Due to it being popular, we recommend making planning on using it during the quieter times.

Scooter Time Rentals is renting scooters and other personal wheelchair vehicles during the event. Contact Scooter Time at 423-569-1934 for on-site reservations.

Can I bring my pet (dog or otherwise) to the National Farm Machinery Show?

You can bring a pet to the National Farm Machinery Show. However, they must be kept on a leash or stored in a pet carrier.

However, no pets are allowed to attend the Tractor Pull or be present inside of Freedom Hall.

Is there overnight RV parking or camping permits available?

If you are coming to the show in an RV or want to camp at the Fairgrounds, you have options.

Overnight RV parking is available on the West side of the Fairgrounds. This is the side of the grounds facing Kentucky Kingdom. At the cost of $50 per night, you can get access to an electric hook-up and a dump station.

Dry primitive style camping is available nightly, as long as you bring a generator. The cost per night is $30.

What should I do if I lose something (child or property)?

If you should happen to lose your child or property, the Kentucky Fairgrounds and Exposition Center provides two on-site options for you.

The lost and found is located at the KEC Security Office which is located next to the Ticket Office on the East Side of Freedom Hall. To contact our Lost and Found, call (502) 367-5360.

If a child should become lost, visit the KEC Security Office. The KEC security team has radios and full coverage of the facility and any lost kids will be taken to the security team to reunite with their parties.

Will there be a facemask requirement?

Yes, there will be a facemask requirement for attendees. However, vaccination cards will not be checked.

HAVE YOU GOOGLED YOUR FARM?

Many have done it once or twice. Others have never even thought of doing it. The Ag industry is a fruitful business based in tradition. SEO isn’t traditional yet, but the benefits are oh-so pretty. Now is the time to learn some SEO tips to benefit your Ag business.

1) DEFINE THE “I WANT TO KNOW” MOMENTS

Customer search intent can be defined one of four ways. Either they want to find something, learn about something, learn about something they want to buy or buy something. Everything else doesn’t exist.

The end user is defined by the constant need to know. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be on Google searching for an answer. These intangibles are fun to talk about, but how can a farmer or Ag business person translate them to reality?

The answer is by being conscious of these moments. Go to Amazon, Wal-Mart or any retailer site. Try to buy a bag of fertilizer. Take note of the steps it takes to find what you want, confirm what you want and then purchase it. What steps existed along that journey? Did anything bother you about the experience?

2) UNDERSTAND YOUR MARKET

The Internet erases the geographic boundaries that keep you firmly in the rural world. But, just because you can reach out to the wide world, it doesn’t mean they are interested. Does that make sense? Well, let’s try it another way.

If you sold John Deere products and everyone loved it in your neck of the woods, you don’t go online to compete against New Holland search terms. The people searching for New Holland gear are after New Holland gear for a reason. Does the potential for crossover exist? Sure.

However, it’s not wise to force yourself onto a market that might not exactly be warm and welcoming. That’s why we suggest lateral and niche moves. Using the John Deere example, you might have a ton of equipment and not enough of a consumer base.

What about moving universal tractor seats? There is always related merchandise and mechanical parts that fit many related vehicles. See what happened there? New markets are being defined, while also taking care of your base.

This is the crux of developing SEO strategy. Optimize what you excel at and then begin branching out into terms you can win.

3) KNOW YOUR SEARCH TERMS & KEYWORDS

This sounds rather simple. However, a ton of businesses end up with a terrible mix of keywords. It’s not their fault. Most business owners approach new prospects this way. We have something you want to buy. In the traditional brick and mortar sales sense, that worked for ages.
